NW CV SURVEY RESULTS ARE IN!

Many thanks to all who participated in the Zoom meeting and took the time to respond to our survey.

Of the 30 families who completed the survey, most provided encouraging words of thanks for keeping some programs going during the pandemic. Thank YOU for those sentiments-much appreciated!

Families were asked to respond to four questions based on the premise that the CV daily new infection rate in Westchester would remain under 5% going forward (ie for every 100 individuals who feel the  need to get tested, 5 or fewer would be deemed positive).

Q1: Would you register for any given indoor NW program where participants and staff wear masks but are in close proximity at times and not purposefully physically separated?

A: 57% of respondents indicated YES to this question.  This is very encouraging, especially since a number of families indicated they would have responded positively if vaccinated.

Q2 Would you register for a transportation route OR trip program involving transportation where windows are cracked and participants wear masks but are sitting side by side on the bus?

A: 46% of respondents indicated YES to this question. This is problematic for us due to the nature of bus route creation and the expense of operating them. Therefore, we will not be resuming transportation to/from programs for our Spring session, but hopefully over the summer.

Q3: Would you register for a dining program where participants are seated next to each other at a table eating without masks?

A: 36% of respondents indicated YES to this question. Clearly most families remain concerned about eating indoors with no physical distancing. Therefore we will not be operating Tastes of Westchester, Dinner & Movie, or any trip programs that would necessitate dining in a restaurant.  Hopefully this summer.

Q4: Is you son/daughter available for NW weekday Zoom programs between 9:30am- 2:30pm?

A: 30% of respondents indicated YES to this question. It appears that between the Zoom classes we are providing, other agencies zoom programs, and (for some individuals) school or day programs, there is little room for additional Zoom classes. We will reach out to those families who expressed interest to explore convenient times for one additional zoom program.

To sum up, we’ll resume a few additional in-person programs for the spring session (to be mailed in two weeks), while continuing most of what we’ve offered over the Winter session. I am confident that with additional vaccine rollout in the coming months, the summer is looking very bright for us to approach at least 85% of our typical service delivery. Let’s hope for the best, and thank you for your continued support of Nor-West.
